As mentioned previously, there are two main facets of incident prevention in safety management- routine and ad hoc inspections. Encountering a safety problem during a routine inspection is called identifying a deficiency. When there is a safety problem that becomes apparent during an ad hoc inspection, it is called an issue.
What is a ‘task’ in the Safety Matters app?
After deficiencies and issues are identified and recorded during inspections using the Safety Matters app, they can be assigned by someone in management to a specific staff user as a task. The task can either be added to the staff user’s task list or may exist in the system as a standalone task. The task may also be reassigned to a different user(s) until fully resolved.
